October is Menopause Awareness Month

The International Menopause Society, has been raising awareness of the menopause every October since 2009. This year's theme addresses 'menopause brain fog'.

The term is used a lot but includes some of the following: difficulty remembering words or numbers, forgetting appointments and finding it hard to focus. These, along with other distressing vasomotor symptoms, such as night sweats, hot flushes and vaginal dryness, may not affect every woman to the same degree, but they can be upsetting and make everyday life more challenging.

Many women find that regular reflexology treatments can help deal with some menopausal symptoms and there is research* that provides evidence that reflexology can be effective in decreasing some of these symptoms and improving quality of life for menopausal women.
